Drawing inspiration from the Kusōzu (Nine Stages of Decay), this work began with a 3D scan of the artist’s own body, which was used to create a virtual human. Through six stages, it imagines the “death experience” of this digital body, constructing an audiovisual language through poetic and aesthetic means rather than literal representation.

Instead of portraying corporeal decay directly, the work unfolds through subtle shifts of light and shadow, trembling forms, and gradual transformation, inviting a quiet meditation on the cycle of life and rebirth. It seeks to evoke empathy by opening a space in which viewers may reflect on mortality, impermanence, and the fragile continuity of existence.

Embedded within the work is also a gesture of release: an invitation to loosen one’s attachment to the present world and to place greater care on the inner landscape of the spirit.
